The Ultimate Panini Press Cookbook is Here…and a BIG Breville Panini Press Giveaway!

MY COOKBOOK IS FINALLY OUT!!!

Two years, four months and 20 days after my first email exchange with my publisher, The Ultimate Panini Press Cookbook is officially for sale at Amazon and Barnes & Noble!!! (And we’ve got a BIG panini press giveaway to celebrate, at the end of this post!) [THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED]

So many different emotions are running through my head right now – giddy, elated, stressed, anxious, relieved, hopeful… Most of all, though, I’m thankful for having had the opportunity to write (and photograph!) this book, I’m grateful to my incredible husband, Mike, who has proudly supported me throughout this long roller coaster ride (check out the awesome matching cookbook iPhone covers he made for my birthday last weekend!) and I’m beyond excited to finally be able to share this 2-lb labor of love with all of you!

THREE IMPORTANT THINGS:

  • I’ll sign your book(s) for you! Just fill out this Bookplate Request form – it’s perfect for gifts!
  • Help me spread the word! If you enjoy the book (and I hope you do), please let your friends and family know on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media. If you’re so inclined to write an Amazon review, that’s enormously helpful too. Thank you so much for your support!
  • We’ve got an amazing giveaway today…

ultimate-panini-press-giveaway-3** WIN A BREVILLE PANINI PRESS – 5 WINNERS!! ** [THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED]

Five lucky readers will each receive a Breville Panini Press ($119.95 retail value), courtesy of Breville USA. As you probably know by now, this is the press I first started Panini Happy with and this model continues to be the one I use most.

  • To enter: Leave a comment on this post, sharing the most unusual dish/food you’ve ever attempted to grill (on a panini press, outdoor BBQ, firepit…anything).
  • OPTIONAL Bonus Entry: Get on the Panini Happy email list to stay up to date on the latest panini press recipes, tips, giveaways and more. Be sure to leave a separate comment to let me know you’ve subscribed. (Existing subscribers, just leave a separate comment to let me know you’re already on the list)

The giveaway will close on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 12:00 PM PDT. I will use random.org to select five winners and announce the winners in this post. I will contact the winners via e-mail – if I don’t receive a response within 5 days I will draw another name. My apologies to my international readers, the prize can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

** UPDATE 9/18/13: Congratulations to our winners – #62 Sara, #235 Tomi S., #14 Ritika, #238 2wellsmade5 and #27 Jamie!

Many thanks to Breville USA for providing the prize for this giveaway.

Many, many congratulations on your book! Amazon tells me that my copies are shipping now, and I’m so excited for you (and for myself, haha).

I’m not that creative of a griller, which is why your book fills a need, and the strangest thing I’ve put on one is a donut.

My most unusual grilling adventure was probably not all that adventurous by your standards and happened fairly recently – Romaine lettuce. For some reason the sight of some very respectable Romaine heads at 3 for a dollar inspired (if that could be the word) me to do this. Let’s just say that it’s a difficult technique to perfect.

I always like grilling foods. One that I tried recently was a variation of a monte cristo sandwich. Used our homemade french bread with roasted turkey and ham with grueyere and instead of currant jelly a peach pineapple jelly. Instead of dealing with the eggy mess, I dipped the french bread earlier and cooked it like french toast. Then once cooled, I put the sandwich together and grilled it. We don’t own a panini press, so we improvise by either using our outdoor grill, or cast iron griddle weighed down.

I’m so happy to have found you! I tried to grill bacon on tin foil the other day, it wasn’t the greatest idea. Maybe almost burnt the house down. A plus, it incinerated the bacon and foil. Weird.
I would like very much to sign up for panini news!

Grilled fruit. Don’t have a panini press but would love one. I resort to using 2 cast iron grill pans on the stove when I want a panini.

    2. My oddest panini was a Baked Alaska Panini (with ice cream, etc.). A noble try!

    Thanks for your good work

As far as grilling, the most unusual was pizza, before it was so popular! 🙂

It wasn’t that it was something unusual, it was that it was the first time – an experience better left to history.

I’m so stuck on how good fresh sourdough tastes in the panini press, I haven’t branched out to anything unusual yet. But I will!

Fabulous recipes! The most daunting cookout I attempted was an Argentinian parrillada. That was too complicated! Fortunately, there was an expert griller that helped me.

I’m afraid I’m not a very adventurous panini maker (although you’ve been inspiring me to branch out). I was kind of proud of myself when I came up with using my panini grill to warm tortillas for fajitas one night. I don’t leave them in long or they get crispy, but just a couple seconds takes the cold edge off without changing the texture (microwaving them always makes them seem a little mushy/too soft for me).

Congrats on the book – can’t wait to get mine! We went through a kitchen remodel this summer, so had to grill practically every night for a couple of months. We mastered grilling a lot of unusual things, but the most unusual would have to be pasta. There were a few misses, but finally nailed it!

This is unusual but I tried grilling a steak and chicken breast at the same time. Of course it didn’t quite work out because I like my stead on the rare side and my chicken on the cooked side. So of course my steak was ready way before my chicken.

Grilled salmon with a brush of maple syrup. So yummy… but tricky to keep the fish from going thru the grates on the BBQ.
