WIN a Breville Panini Grill – Celebrating 50 Panini!!

by on November 17, 2008 Click to Print Click to Print

In case you lost count, that decadent Peanut Butter Pound Cake S’mores Panini recipe I just posted was actually my 49th sandwich on Panini Happy.  That means the next one marks the big 5-0!  I think that’s cause to celebrate…and what better way than with a really good blog giveaway?  That’s right – there’s another panini grill up for grabs!

This time we’ve got the Breville Ikon Removable-Plate Grill, which I’ve been trying out recently.  It’s really similar to the Breville Ikon Panini Grill model I also use, but it’s even better since (as the name implies) you can remove the plates, which makes it so much easier to clean.  It comes with a flat plate in addition to the two ribbed ones so it can also be used as a griddle.  Another great feature is the adjustable tilt that allows you to change the angle of the lower plate – so you can tilt it up when you want to drain fat from grilling meats or leave it flat if you’re making eggs or pancakes.  The grill retails at Amazon for $149.99, but one lucky reader will receive one for FREE, courtesy of the lovely folks at Breville.

How to enter the giveaway:

THE CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.

In the comments, vote on one of the following three post-Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches for me to make as my 50th sandwich:

  • Turkey, Cranberry & Havarti Panini – grilled on a baguette
  • Pulled Turkey Sliders – with cranberry BBQ sauce on dinner rolls
  • Prosciutto-Wrapped Turkey, Avocado & Swiss Panini – with sundried tomato mayo, grilled on ciabatta

Feel free to suggest any write-in ideas as well!  I’ll randomly select one person to win the Breville Ikon Removable-Plate GrillGET FIVE EXTRA CHANCES TO WIN – if you Twitter about the contest (and DM PaniniKathy or e-mail me at panini[DOT]happy[AT]yahoo[DOT]com to let me know), you’ll receive 5 additional entries. Contest ends Monday, November 24 at 12 PM PST. THE CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. Apologies to my international readers – we can only ship the prize to U.S. addresses.

Ok, this was a hard one for me as they all sound great but I’m going to go with the Prosciutto-Wrapped Turkey, Avocado & Swiss Panini because I love anything with avocado. I also mentioned you at my blog this week…don’t have Twitter but does that count? :-)

Turkey, havarti and cranberry would be my pick but use dried cranberries and soak them a fruit juice or brandy

I’d have to vote for Turkey, Cranberry & Havarti Panini – grilled on a baguette.

I love cranberry sauce and since it isn’t heavy and filling it’s usually the only thing I can’t get enough of after Thanksgiving! I’m usually stuffing-ed out but I can never get enough cranberry sauce!

[Reply]

22 Nicole November 18, 2008 at 10:33 pm

Turkey, Avocado, and Swiss. I’m probably voting for this one because I think avocado is like the best thing in the world, but it sure sounds tasty!

when i read the first one, i thought it was a sure winner. then i read the second and changed my mind. then i read the third and became flustered. i finally decided on option #2. cranberry bbq sauce? mmm. :)

the prosciutto- wrapped turkey sounds awesome, but have you thought about one with turkey stuffed with stuffing, throw some gravy on there and then put some cranberries and perhaps a dollop of potatoes? ultimate thanksgiving sangwich if you ask me.

29 Kendall November 19, 2008 at 2:44 pm

My, my… it’s hard to chose between such excellent choices. I think I’ll have to pick the Turkey, Cranberry & Havarti Panini. I can’t wait to see the 50th recipe up so I can try yours! Keep up the great work!

The sound of avocado and swiss makes me feel like I’m having another preggie craving, haha. They all sound delish, but my vote goes to the Prosciutto-Wrapped Turkey.

I adore my Ikon, but would love a second for Florida! My suggestion for a post-Thanksgiving panini would be:

turkey, stuffing, cranberry panini with goat cheese on ciabatta bread

I know I’ll have to make one now!

35 Deborah November 20, 2008 at 6:21 am

Holy crap, it’s really hard to choose between the 1st and 3rd, but I’m going to have to go with the prosciutto. Avocado and swiss? How can you go wrong! I bet some alfalfa sprouts on that would go a long way too.

For a post-Thanksgiving panini, my vote is for the Turkey, Cranberry & Havarti panini—I have to do something with all those leftovers!

Now that my vote is cast—you can’t go wrong with any of these…they all look delicious!

[Reply]

46 Kate November 20, 2008 at 10:09 am

I’m going with the Prosciutto-Turkey, Avocado & Swiss. I just can’t imagine much better than turkey with avocado – unless you add prosciutto! Yum!

48 Nate November 20, 2008 at 10:15 am

My choice is the first one, turkey and cranberry. You’re using up two leftover ingredients together and not doing much more prep.

[Reply]

49 Annie November 20, 2008 at 10:18 am

You had me at havarti! Though they all sound good. I don’t have twitter–bummers! Could I facebook it instead?
