Wow, not a single San Antonio shop on the list! I didn’t know you were compiling, or I’d have sent you a few.
Number one on my list is Zito’s Deli in San Antonio. (http://www.zitosdeli.net/) Their “Serious” sandwich is one of the best you’ll ever eat. But you have to order a “Half Serious” (hah!) because the whole Serious is nearly 9 inches in diameter if I remember correctly.
They don’t even mention it on the menu because it’s so secret, but the real star of the Serious sandwich is Zito’s special sauce that they make every day. When you’re in San Antonio, you have to visit this place. It is TO. DIE. FOR.

Check out the eleven delicious panini at Sip in downtown San Antonio! The Italy with it’s spicy red pepper spread, cappocola, sopressata, proscuitto and picante provolone is not to be missed.
